The Morningstar PEV (Planetary Exploration Vehicle) has been developed as a scientific platform for use on research missions. Additionally, it can be utilized as a Rapid Response/Medical vehicle as needed. The PEV normally is operated by a crew of two, although one can manage if needed. It can host a working crew of 3-8 personnel, depending on the setup. The vehicle's rear bay features the same mission adaptation holo-system that the Volga Runabout contains, but can be set up with standard hardware systems as well. The PEV also sports a pair of replicators. Numerous mounting points and junction boxes adorn the PEV's exterior, allowing for a variety of specialty equipment to be mounted. Additionally, the numerous sensor modules on the vehicle can be changed out as needed.

The Morningstar PEV has no weapons on board, other than those that may be carried onto the vehicle by the crew. Minimal armor is integrated into the vehicles body, mainly for protection from hostile environments. It features an 8-wheel drive system, and is powered by four micro-fusion/fission drives.

The Morningstar PEV specs are as follow:

8.85 Meters Long
2.93 Meters Wide
3.31 Meters Tall

• Max Speed: 122 km/h on land, 18 km/h on water

Description:

An 8 wheeled medium heigth vehicle, the Morningstar PEV features a cab that is entirely enclosed with reinforced armor metal sides and top, and an adaptable rear bay that can set up for a variety of mission, both scientific and medical/rescue. Because of the weight and style of the vehicle, it is not always practical for compact streets and built up areas, however it is possible for the vehicle to navigate them at slow speeds. The Morningstar PEV offers the features and performances required of a modern multirole vehicle, which is well suited to practically any mission roll and environment that the team it is assigned to would need. This vehicle is outfitted with a 28,000 lb Winch and Towing Kit.

It has a series of puncture resistant, all-terrain, heavy duty tires along each side of the vehicle that makes it possible to maneuver across nearly all types of ground, even under high speeds, although this should only be done in emergencies. The Morningstar PEV is also capable of amphibious operation. It does have the capability of lifting off the ground in emergencies but only with enough power for very short bursts and no more than a maximum of 2 meter off the ground, although at speed it is capable of passing over ditches or small ravines.
